Mr Bramwell joined Westleigh High School in September 2015. He graduated from the College of St Pauls and St Marys gaining a BEd Hons degree. In addition he has also successfully completed an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management and the new NPQH qualification. Before joining Westleigh, Mr Bramwell worked at Wade Deacon High school as Head of PE and then Assistant Headteacher before moving to The Cooperative Academy of Manchester as Senior Vice Principal where he was instrumental in transforming what was a failing school into the most improved school in Manchester.

Mrs K Burge

Mrs Burge graduated from Liverpool Hope University in 2002 with a BA (Hon) in English Literature with Psychology and began her career at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College before taking up the position of Head of English at Byrchall High School, Wigan. She has held several leadership roles at UTC Warrington, Ellesmere Park High School in Salford and Woodhey High School in Bury. Mrs Burge joined Westleigh as Deputy Headteacher in January 2024.

Mr. Gee graduated from Liverpool John Moores in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Economics. He then went on to complete a PGCE in Business and ICT. Mr Gee began his teaching career at Irlam and Cadishead College before holding a number of leadership roles at UTC Warrington. During this period he completed both the NPQSL(National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders) and NPQLBC(National Professional Qualification for Leading Behaviour and Culture). In 2023 Mr Gee joined the Shaw Education Trust as Director of Computing and Vocational, a role which involved conducting Quality Assurance and School improvement work across all of the schools within the trust.

Miss Johnson graduated from Edge Hill University in 1998 with a BA Hons in English and Drama. She has worked at Westleigh High School since 1999 as an English teacher, however over this time, Miss Johnson has also taken roles as Head of Year and SENCo. In September 2014, Miss Johnson was appointed to the Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher.

Mrs Scholes graduated from Newcastle University in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Medical Microbiology and Immunology.  She went on to complete a PGCE in Secondary Science via the University of Manchester and began her career as a Science teacher at Rivington and Blackrod High School, moving into subject leadership with lead practitioner status. She then worked as an Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo at UTC Bolton, gaining the NASENCo Award and IQM Centre of Excellence, before joining Westleigh as Assistant Headteacher and Head of College in 2025.

Miss N Tomlinson

Miss Tomlinson graduated in 2008 from the University of Liverpool with BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry. She then went on to do a PGCE in Secondary Science, graduating in 2009. Miss Tomlinson began her career at St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School, completing a Masters in Teaching & Learning in 2012. She was appointed to Curriculum Leader for Science in 2014 and appointed as a specialist leader of education in 2018 for Science.

Miss Stafford graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2002 with a BSC (Hons) in Mathematics. She went on to complete a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and began her career as a Maths teacher at Fairfield High School in Widnes before holding various Maths leadership roles at Culcheth High School in Warrington and St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School in Wigan. Miss Stafford joined Westleigh as Head of Maths in 2016 and was appointed to the senior leadership team in 2020.

Mrs L Garrett

Mrs Garrett graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in English Literature, Drama, and Education. She went on to complete her teaching qualification at Edge Hill University and has since earned a Master’s degree in Education, along with the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO). Throughout her career, Mrs Garrett has held a range of leadership roles across SEND, Behaviour, Pastoral Care, and Transition, contributing to strategic development across the Trust in these areas. She has also served as Head of English Faculty in three different schools, where she led curriculum development and teaching and learning strategies within the core subjects to drive positive student outcomes. Mrs Garrett holds both the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) and Senior Leadership (NPQSL). She was appointed as Assistant Headteacher in 2025.

Claire Fontenell

Associate Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Fontenell graduated in 1995 from Edinburgh College of Art with BA (Hons) in Design. In 2003 she went on to study her PGCE in Secondary Education for Design Technology, graduating from University of Greenwich. Mrs Fontenell began her teaching career at Harris Academy Crystal Palace London, completing a Masters in Education in 2007. She relocated as a middle leader to the Northwest in 2010 focusing on teaching and learning as an Advanced Skill Teacher and appointed to Director of Learning. In 2023 Mrs Fontenell was appointed to The Westleigh School as an Associate Assistant Headteacher.
