Students worked in groups of 10 with groupings being chosen at random. At the beginning of the day students were given the brief to research the different groups of people that lived in their local community and then decide which groups would be categorised as ‘vulnerable’. Once students had completed their research they were required to develop an idea for a community action project to support vulnerable groups in their community.

The project would need to consider the financial requirements, marketing/ promotional aspects and also how they would implement their project and monitor its impact on the community. At the end of the day, students presented their ideas on stage to a panel of judges who consisted of Mrs Susan Foster (School Governor), Cameron Foster and a representative from the Institute of Financial Accountants.   The overall winner was group 7 and these students will now go through to the regional finals in October:

Good luck for October’s Challenge!
