DEVOTION TO THE MOTION  DANCE SHOW

On 21 January 2016, the PE faculty held the school’s annual dance show, which was a complete sell-out.  The sports hall was packed to capacity with family and friends watching over 150 students taking part in the performance.  To open the show, we were delighted to have year 6 students from St Paul’s Primary School, who performed “Dance with me Tonight”.  This was a complete joy to watch!

Year 7 students then performed a chilling routine to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, whilst our year 8 girls performed a Bollywood routine to “Jai Ho”.  Year 8 students, Jaiden Westwell and Natasha Smith wowed everyone with their gymnastic routine, which was combined with a boys’ breakdance routine.

Each dance club from year 7 to year 9 performed their own group routines, along with their dedicated dance leaders.  Years 10 and 11 BTEC groups received many positive comments at the end of their performance.

A moving contemporary piece was performed by Megan Prytharch and Sasha Wilcock; whilst a beautiful ballet routine was performed by Holly Hopkins and Katie Holliday.  It was evident that a great array of talent was on display.  However, the real highlight of the event was the fantastic staff dance to “Proud Mary”, which was quite a performance and gave the audience a giggle!

A massive ‘Well Done” to all the students involved and an even bigger “thank you” to the PE faculty for all their hard work to make this evening possible!
