Taking holidays during term time can negatively affect a child’s education, as even a small number of missed days can make it harder to keep up with lessons, friendships, and important skills. Regular attendance supports academic progress and future success. In addition, unauthorised term-time holidays may result in a penalty notice of £80 per parent, per child (rising to £160 if unpaid within 28 days).
