Adam Little – one to watch!

Westleigh is delighted for Year 11 student, Adam Little, who has recently landed his first big acting role in a new television production called ‘Years and Years’.
The audition took place in Manchester last Thursday. It didn’t take Adam long to convince the production team that he was right for the role. He says, “I was only in there about three minutes but I got on really well with the director and made them laugh. She knew Leigh well so we had a lot to talk about.”
Even though the audition went so well, Adam was still surprised when he got the role. He says, “Most auditions you go to don’t lead to anything so I don’t get nervous and just try to forget about them afterwards. When I read the email confirming I’d got the part it felt amazing. It’s what I’ve wanted since Year 7.”
The production is due to screen later in the year and Adam will be acting alongside big stars including Emma Thompson, Rory Kinnear, T'Nia Miller, Russell Tovey, Jessica Hynes, Ruth Madeley and Anne Reid. But Adam isn’t daunted, he says this is a big moment that could lead to other work in the future so he says it’s up to him now to ‘prove they’ve picked the right person’.
So what’s the secret of Adam’s success? As well as his natural talent and sheer determination, Adam works part time at a hairdresser’s in Astley where he washes hair. He says, “Meeting lots of new people has helped build my confidence and I feel I can chat to anyone.” A lesson to all our Year 11 students about the importance of developing new skills!

Well done Adam! You’re definitely one to watch!
